Everyday life can be pretty much tiring. The daily ritual to wake up on time, rush to the office, completing work targets, cooking up meals for yourself and what not. This is a hectic schedule that almost all of us follow. Sometimes it all gets so exhausting that you crave for a vacation to relax your mind and calm your soul.
And when talking of a break, what can be a place better than a beach. After all, it is the best escape anyone can have. Chilling by the beachside in the warm sands and cold water with a little breeze is all that you need to get over the daily stress. But what if your beach vacation turns out to be the life experience as there you unknowingly have to run for your life? Isn't it scary? Unfortunately, this is what happens with this woman...
When she saw where those sounds were coming from, she held her breath. She was frightened. Her vacation was struck by the unexpected. She never thought that a trip she planned to relax would eventually turn out to be a nightmare. She would have to run for her life. But why?
She could not absorb what she saw. She stood there like a rock. The sight was dreadful but she needed to do something immediately. She was there in the corner all alone. After suffering the mild shock on witnessing the scene she had her heart in her mouth. The woman needed to act quickly.
Maria (name changed) was a young woman in her mid 20's. She was a confident woman who did her post graduation and later was working with a multi-national organization. She was doing good at her workplace but as time passed responsibilities came to her shoulders and things got challenging.
Soon only her work took over her. There was a lot of work piling over her table, and she was just lost in it. Day by day, she was not able to handle all this stress. and she wanted a break from her ever-hectic schedule. But this was not easy.
Meetings and conferences, Maria had a lot. But one day she finally decided to give it all a break and go on holiday. Little did she know that this break will also not solve her problems and rather would end up being one. Her holidaying experience was the one no one will ever wish to encounter.
Maria was now looking for a place where she can go for a vacation. She thought hiking and rock climbing would be too tiring a thing and needed something relaxing. Thus she opted for a beach holiday at Petites-Dalles. Unfortunately, this did not go as planned.
Like any other girl, Maria was excited about her vacation. She started to plan her itinerary and even shopped for clothing and bags. She knew all she would do by the beach side would be sunbathing, swimming. But was it the only thing she would be doing?
One can never be sure how a beach vacation might go. What might appear to be a perfect day at the beach, might change in a fraction of seconds. Anything could go wrong at any time. There are chances that you forgot your sunscreen at the hotel and fall prey to sunburns and something more. But what Maria went through was quite unusual.
Maria went to one secluded corner of the beach. The sun was bright and the cool breeze blew along. She took out a towel from her bag and spread it over the sand. She decided to lie face down and bathe in the sun. However, soon only it all changed.
After some time she took out a book and began reading it. She was having a good time and was enjoying her own company. With a hectic work life, this all wasn't possible and Maria was loving every second of the day. Suddenly, she was disturbed by some sounds in the background...
She was disturbed by those sounds. Initially, she did not get what was the source of those unpleasing and heavy sounds. She mistook it for the beach waves but in no time realized that it was not the water or the beach making those noises but it was something she didn't anticipate.
What happened next was something that no one could ever be prepared for. In a second a relaxing and chilling holiday turns out to be a drastic and unimaginable one. Those sounds were coming from a source beyond imagination.
Maria was taken aback when she realized that sounds were coming from the boulders that broke off from the top of the cliff right behind her. The huge pieces of rock started to crack and fell right next to her. Maria really was lucky to have heard the sounds of the rocks cracking.
Maria had no time to react and was totally perplexed. She has literally saved her life. Within a few minutes, tons of rock came crashing down and that too within a range of 50 feet of Maria's location. All around it was dust and debris. Tons of sand filled the beach.
Sooner or later, Maria's instincts kicked in and she knew she had to run and vacate the place. She immediately kept her book aside and got up from the towel. Maria started to run to the other side of the beach, panicking and asking for help.
Maria safely made it to the other side and gasped. She breathed heavily and couldn't believe what she had just escaped. She would have been under those rocks and would have injured herself really bad. All she wanted to know was how did this happen?
Petites-Dalles never witnessed such a cliff fall. Maria was really grateful that she could escape this disaster which else would have costed her life. However, even one loose boulder could lead others to follow. And this is what often leads to an entire cliff fall.
When the other beachgoers and officials came to know what all the woman has escaped, they were scared. They decided to inform and warn the other beach visitors who sunbathe in that part to prevent them from any sort of accidents.
The officials got signboards installed in various parts of the beach where cliff fall was a possibility. It was common to find beachgoers sunbathe at any place they found vacant. Thus it became necessary to ensure everyone's safety and install signboards.
Well, when all of us consider Maria to be really lucky, there are incidents from other parts of the world where the scenes have been similar yet different. Sunbathing and relaxing have often ended up people in bad spaces and here comes in an incident from the coast of Portsall, France.
On that particular day, the weather was extremely rough. In the late afternoon, strong winds and high tidal movements were observed. It was definitely not the day for a sunbathe but a curious and adventurous man wanted to do something crazy.
Oliver was an adventurous man by nature. He has been risking his life at deadly and risky treks. However, the day he decided to relax at the beach also turns out to be a bad idea. The weather was rough and Oliver decided to do something daring.
Even after witnessing the harsh conditions, Oliver decides to go a little close at the seashore and have a better view. The waves were high and the rocks nearby were wet and slippery. Despite this Oliver climbed a few rocks with his cell phone in his hand.
Oliver went quite close to the waves and it was not at all safe. His friend who accompanied him to the beach was standing a little far from the shore due to safety reasons, but Oliver wanted to capture a good view in his camera. But as the weather turned violent, Oliver's friend called him back when he came across an elderly couple.
When Oliver saw the couple, he warned them that the waves were really high and fast and going ahead is dangerous. The moment he said so, a huge wave was making its way to the shore and Oliver's friend shouted and warned him. When Oliver turned back to see the wave, in no time it collapsed with the rocks and he got imbalanced.
Oliver managed to withstand the wave and hoped that the elderly couple too did that. When the wave crossed he turned to the couple to see they were alright and soon realized that while the woman was fine, the man was lying in the water.
Oliver and the elderly man's wife immediately ran to help the man. After much struggle, the duo could get a hold of the man and Oliver help[ed them reach a safe place. Luckily, Oliver was there at the right time to help them out and truly saved the life of the couple. Find it here in the video.

One can see what terrible weather it was. The elderly couple really were lucky to make it to the land. However, it is always better to choose a bright sun and a safe place for a relaxing day by the beach.
After watching this video you can understand that to whatever extent a sea or any natural formation might look beautiful, it really doesn't need time to turn into a beast capable of stealing your life.
