These Pictures Will Show You Just How Stylish Kate Middleton Is

23 min read

Kate Middleton, aka the Duchess of Cambridge, has always been as chic as anyone can get. She’s been a style inspiration for several years now. Naturally, 2019 wasn’t an exception to this rule. In fact, some might tell you that it’s been her best year so far!

Supporting An Ethical Fashion House

Kate made her first public appearance of the year in this dark green, long-sleeved dress that was made by one of her favorite brands. Designed by an ethical brand named Beulah London, the brand donates a tenth of its profits to human trafficking victims. Previously, Kate has worn items made by the brand. She wore this $770 dress when she was visiting Family Action, a United Kingdom charity that is giving underprivileged families financial and emotional support.

The Duchess Wears Alexander McQueen

If you’ve seen photos of Kate wearing white, you’d immediately know that’s her color. She looks so incredible wearing white. Just look at this Alexander McQueen gown she wore to the 2019 British Academy Film Awards in London. The royal wore her hair up in a bun and accessorized with a diamond bracelet, pearl and diamond earrings, and a white clutch. There’s no doubt she and her husband stole the show when they arrived.

Just Like A Disney Princess

It turned out to be a subtle year for Kate in terms of her style as it was on the casual. All the same, she looked like a Disney princess when she went to the 100 Women in Finance Gala. We love the multi-tone rose tulle gown she wore. Completing the look, she paired the Gucci gown with a velvet Prada clutch and a sparkling pair of white heels designed by Oscar de la Renta. This isn’t the first time she’s worn something inspired by a Disney princess.

Not Just A Lady But A Rebel Too

When Kate Middleton went to a party held in honor of exceptional people in Northern Ireland, she wore this $2,480 dress made by Missoni. The guests of honor we shocked to see her and Prince William there. The dress is a stunning sea-foam color, but the Duchess made headlines for more than her dress. People saw the way she went to the bar and poured herself a pint!

Boasting True Royal Finesse

On the second day of her Northern Ireland visit, the Duchess wore a baby blue Mulberry coat. It seems she’s a big fan of the brand. She wore the coat while attending a Cinemagic charity event in Ballymena. The belted, button-down coat was nothing but elegant, adding flair to the whole look!

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="840"] Boasting True Royal Finesse[/caption]

The Perfect Outfit For Autumn

Here we have a more casual look Kate wore. She wore this to her October surprise visit to the National History Museum. The burgundy neck has a defined neck and sleeved and was paired with olive green wide-leg pants. This is the perfect look for autumn. The colors compliment each- other effortlessly and the whole outfit it elegant and classic. Kate completed this look with a Chanel handbag, gold Asprey hoops, and matching burgundy heels.

An Elegant Beauty

Wearing a pale blue outfit, Kate attended a reception at Buckingham Palace last March. Looking incredible, we adore the quirky details of the dress like the buttons running down the front and the high collar. It all adds elegance and class to the dress. Somehow, the Duchess makes the most vintage pieces look modern and chic. This dress was paired with cream-colored heels and a stunning blue clutch.

Kate Middleton Is Radiant In Ruby Red

Kate seems to be fond of pastel colors. That’s why people spoke more about the Catherine Walker coatdress she wore in this photo. The red coatdress was adorned with big gold buttons, which is, of course, a classic color combination. To top it off, she paired it with a matching bow fascinator. The bold outfit was her attire for the Commonwealth Service which was held at Westminster Abbey. You might remember that the duchess wore the same coat to a New Zealand visit in 2014.

Caps And Loose Hair

Take a look at these pictures below and you’ll see that they were taken at different events. This is an example of Kate wearing the same dress but with a twist. She later added cap sleeves to the Alexander McQueen gown. The first time she wore it was to the 2017 BAFTAs and then again when she attended the Portrait Gala in March last year. The dress has off-the-shoulder straps originally, but it’s been altered to look less formal since. Both versions are gorgeous in our opinions!

The Duchess Of Cambridge And The Queen

You’d be surprised to hear this, but their visit to King’s College in London was the first solo outing of the Queen and Kate. Unlike previous affairs, they weren’t joined by other members of the royal family. The Duchess wore a more subdue outfit to allow Her Majesty to shine. Kate wore a gray coat-dress designed by Catherine Walker while the Queen wore a baby pink outfit. To complete her outfit, the Duchess wore a black fascinator, heels and held a black clutch.

Her Daughter’s First Day Of School

This was Princess Charlotte’s first day of school. Kate went with a simple floral dress when she brought her daughter to Thomas’s Battersea. It was a $180 dress from Michael Kors! This isn’t the first time Kate was seen in this floral outfit since she wore it for Harry and Meghan’s wedding rehearsal in 2018.

Perfection In Powder Blue

Kate probably curates her wardrobe exactly now. By looking at the colors and patterns of her clothing, she seems to have figured out her style. This $2,000 dress was one she wore to a visit in the Back to Nature garden in September. We already know she loves powder blue, but this dress had a floral pattern and a matching belt.

Paying A Lovely Tribute

Prince William and Kate met Prince Shah Karim Al-Husseini or Aga Khan IV when they were visiting the Aga Khan Centre in October. The Duchess sported a teal ARoss Girl x Soler dress which she paired with a green belt. She accessorized the outfit with Zeen earrings. It turns out that she wanted to wear these earrings as a tribute to the Pakistani designer.

Chic During A Christening

Taken when Archie, Prince Harry, and Meghan’s son, was christened in the private chapel of Windsor Castle. Of course, Kate was as chic as ever. She wore this blush pink Stella McCartney dress and paired it with pumps. It’s no secret that accessories are crucial to the royal family, so it makes sense she made the right choice by wearing simple drop earrings and a headband.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="840"] Chic During A Christening[/caption]

An English Summer Event

For a long time now, Kate has been a big fan of tennis. She loved watching a few Wimbledon games each year. This picture was taken when she was at the Center Court’s Royal Box. This Suzannah dress was accessorized with an Alexander McQueen belt.

Another iconic look worn by the Duchess is this Erdem dress. With an asymmetric neckline, mismatched buttons, and vintage detailing, it was a killer look. The timeless piece was accessorized with a purple belt.

Middleton Is Memorable In Magenta

Despite the fact that Kate is a royal family member, she has no problem repeating outfits and we salute her for that! She’s been seen wearing this magenta suit twice in the past. The first time was in January 2017. While this Oscar de la Renta piece if from the 2015 fall collection, it’s definitely timeless. This time, she wore it to the Nook Children’s Hospice for a visit in 2019.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="839"] Middleton Is Memorable In Magenta[/caption]

She Is A True Fashion Recycler

The Duchess’ habit of outfit recycling is pretty amazing if you ask us. Another example is this stunning Barbara Casasola off-the-shoulder dress. It’s the second time she’s worn the cream-colored number. Wearing it to the first Addiction Awareness Week gala, she accessorized it with glittery pumps and a satin clutch.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="839"] She Is A True Fashion Recycler[/caption]

A Nod To Her In-Laws

When she went to the Trooping the Color parade, Kate wore a beautiful pastel yellow Alexander McQueen dress. Her matching yellow fascinator was designed by Philip Treacy. This event was a rare joint appearance of her and Meghan together since Meghan had just gotten out of maternity leave at the time.

Using Fashion To Show Respect

Sporting matching green outfits as a nod to the official Pakistani color, Prince William and Kate looked incredible. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a shimmery floor-length Jenny Packham dress along with a dupatta scarf. Prince William also is the first male royal family member to wear a knee-length sherwani.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="841"] Using Fashion To Show Respect[/caption]

She Is A Style Legend

We’re about to show you even older pictures to show you just how stylish Kate is. This sequined and studded gown is from the 2011 Jenny Packham collection. This was one of the first outfits the Duchess recycled. This is also one dress that cemented her status as a fashion icon! Taken in 2016, this picture is when Kate attended a charity gala dinner held at Houghton Hall in King’s Lynn.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="841"] She Is A Style Legend[/caption]

Blue And Beautiful

While on the royal tour of Pakistan, Kate had several iconic looks. On the first day of the tour, she donned a traditional Pakistani garment called shalwar kameez. This one was designed by Catherine Walker.  The teal color reminded others of the shalwar kameez Princess Diana wore when she visited Pakistan in 1996.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="839"] Blue And Beautiful[/caption]

Royals Wear Zara As Well

Only Kate Middleton would be able to make a Zara outfit look royal. The Duchess was seen wearing black culottes and a black-and-white polka-dotted top to match. Simple but elegant, this outfit was worn to an event hosted by the Sunshine House Children and Young People’s Health Development Center in September.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="840"] Royals Wear Zara As Well[/caption]

A Royal In Royal Blue

Here you can see Kate drawing inspiration from her mother-in-law again. Looking chic, Kate wore a loose blue kurta while visiting a school on the Pakistan royal tour. The royal blue shalwar kameez was made by a local designer named Maheen Kahn.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1000"] A Royal In Royal Blue[/caption]

A Tribute To Alexander McQueen

This appearance was a style win for the Duchess. As a tribute to the 10th death anniversary of the famous fashion designer Alexander McQueen, Kate wore a navy coat and skirt made by the fashion house. She’s been a big fan of the designer brand for a long time now.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1000"] A Tribute To Alexander McQueen[/caption]

Cute And Chic In Casual Wear

Surprisingly, Kate stepped out in Newtownards wearing a casual but chic outfit to her farm visit. The royal decided to dress it down for this visit by wearing a khaki green jacket, a sky blue turtleneck, tall brown tassel boots, and black skinny jeans. She tied the whole look together with delicate gold leaf earrings

She Is Effortlessly Chic

There’s no doubt that the Duchess is chic. Well, she definitely looks it in these black skinny pans, Reiss gray blazer, and Aquatalia ankle boots. Lovely In A Lime Green Dress

Always busy with overseas travel, gala dinners, and daily royal duties, Kate needs a comprehensive and elaborate wardrobe that will challenge even the biggest shopaholic among us. Lately, people have noticed a change in her style. Kate wore a bright dress! The lime green getup was something that caught our eye. She was smart enough to tone it down with black stockings and L.K. Bennett Mollie boots.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="800"] Lovely In A Lime Green Dress[/caption]

Looking Calm And Collected

While most people would feel agitated and nervous when it comes to meeting politicians and dignitaries, Kate isn’t like most people! She stays calm and collected even though she didn’t grow up with training for this kind of life. The Duchess looked incredible in a white skirt0suit that had a peplum waist while visiting Poland. We adore the red clutch she paired with it! It gives the perfect pop of color.

Naturally, she couldn’t forget her Mulberry handbag!

Every Color Looks Good On Her

At the end of January. Kate made an unannounced visit to the London Early Years Foundation Stockwell Gardens Nursery and Pre-School. On this visit, she helped serve breakfast to the kids. The event was casual, so she went with an Aegean blue coat, black ankle boots, and a white Sezanne sweater. This is proof she looks incredible in every color!

How To Make An Entrance

Talk about making an entrance! You probably know by now that Kate had an extensive array of clothes on her royal tour of Pakistan. However, we especially love this piece that was a pale turquoise that transitioned to aqua blue. The Catherine Walker piece left a major impression!

Fashion Resolutions For The New Year

We totally love this next look that was worn by The Duchess of Cambridge at the beginning of 2020. She kicked off the year wearing a very tailored two-tone coat, knee-high suede boots, a gorgeous clutch, and a pair of gloves. These are all signature Kate pieces, however, it’s the Hicks & Brown royal blue fedora that completely wowed the crowd. The beautiful hat she chose had feathered embellishment around the brim and was one of the big statement pieces she’s ever worn. The outfit was worn for Sunday service with Prince William at the Sandringham Estate

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="839"] Fashion Resolutions For The New Year[/caption]

Wearing Shades Of Gray

Another thing we love about Kate’s style is that it is truly versatile. When it comes to her fashion choices, the Duchess of Cambridge seems to go for prints and bright colors, however, occasionally she also opts for neutral shades too. When she went to Kings College London, she this gray Catherine Walker coat dress that she paired with black tights, pumps, and an elegant clutch. What completely tied the look together was the Sylvia Fletcher black hat.

This was actually just a few short weeks before she and Prince William tied the knot. Kate sported this double-breasted cream-colored trench coat, black tights, simple black clutch bag, and stunning yet simple black heels to match.

Knitted Clothes Befitting A Royal

This skirt and jacket really looked so stunning, as she paired it with a pair of black tight and black Gianvito pumps. Kate opted to wear her hair in a half-up, half-down style.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="840"] Knitted Clothes Befitting A Royal[/caption]

Perfecting Classic Refinement

This next look is actually one from Kate’s younger days, before she was even a royal. In 2005, she attended the wedding of Hugh Van Cutsem Junior and Rose Astor. This was also the year that she and Prince William first met. At just 23 years old,  Kate wore a classic ‘mid-00s skirt along with a blazer and kitten heels featuring prominently. Wow, so much has changed!

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="841"] Perfecting Classic Refinement[/caption]

The Key Is The Lack Of Details

The Duchess of Cambridge pulled of the most simple yet elegant light-pink dress. No matter how plain-looking the dress really is, Kate still sure knows how to look like the most fashionable woman in the room. There is an old saying that goes, “It is not what you wear but how you wear it.” This saying could not be anymore truer when it comes to Kate Middleton.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="838"] The Key Is The Lack Of Details[/caption]

An Air Of Uncomplicated Flair

By now we all can see just how much of a fan Kate is of simplicity. Here we see another time that she showed up on the red carpet wearing a dress that was not just modest but super stylish. Doesn’t she look lovely in this photo?

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="839"] Bringing Couture To The Streets[/caption]

Old Fashion But Never A Cold Expression

Lets be real, fashion from the sixties and seventies, definitely does not suit every girl. However, we can always count on the Duchess of Cambridge to conquer any look. Kate was photographed when she arrived at the Honiara International Airport in the Solomon Islands. Looking exceptionally elegant in a turquoise, checkered dress that seems inspired by the retro looks of Diana’s era.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="841"] Old Fashion But Never A Cold Expression[/caption]

A Doll In Polka Dots

Yet again, Kate Middleton was seen sporting the combination of black and white. The Duchess looked so lovely as she arrived at the Warner Brothers Studio. Even though, polka dots are not always the best choice of pattern, Kate definitely pulled off this simple look. And of course, her hair looks so ravishing.  Many say that the effect of careful detailing on her jacket and the trim details of the clutch and shoes is what completed the look.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="841"] A Doll In Polka Dots[/caption]

Our Favorite Royal Lady In Pink

If ask us, we certainly think The Duchess looks stunning in any shade of pink or purple. Kate has actually worn this dress on several different occasions over the years. And each and every time she never disappoints us. As a matter of fact, we like to think that this is her favorite lavender Emilia Wickstead Dress. Kate completed the look with a pair of Gianvito Rossi nude suede pumps and a bold Anya Hindmarch cerise pink clutch.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="840"] Our Favorite Royal Lady In Pink[/caption]

Her Elegance Is Unparalleled

This may sound like a cliche, but we honestly think The Duchess looks stunning in just about any color, print, and pattern that she wears. Here we have another perfect example! Kate opted to keep things classy and beautiful once again as she paid a visit to the Imperial War Museum in London where she viewed letters relating to her great grandmother’s three brothers.  All of the men fought and died in World War 1. Kate wore a stunning blue dress with three-quarter length sleeves. She completed her look with neutral-colored heels and a matching clutch.
