Now Stalagmites might be considered as the twin of Stalactites but there is a difference as to how they are formed. Stalagmites are a type of rock formation formed by an accumulation of material deposits by minerals dripping off the ceiling and on the ground. They can be composed of lava, mud, minerals, sand and other sediments.

The tallest of the Stalagmites was discovered inside Doolin Cave in Claire, Ireland and is about 21 feet in height.
