Myth: Needle biopsies may increase the cancer cells resulting in the increase of cancer in other body parts.

Fact: A needle biopsy can help patients to understand if they require surgical procedures to remove lumps. However, a study was conducted in 2004, that showed an increased spread of cancer among patients who underwent the treatment compared to those who didn’t follow the procedure.
